Justice of Peace - Officiants
You have been planning for months or perhaps even years for your special wedding day and finding the right wedding Officiant to perform the ceremony is an important decision. The memories of this day are not only for the both of you, but also your family and friends. Make sure that you find someone who will perform the ceremony you are envisioning, or who has a style and belief system similar to your own. You should have an occasion that truly represents the love you share when you are together.
Florida law allows the following people to perform marriage ceremonies:
- All regularly ordained ministers of the gospel, elders in communion with a church, or other ordained clergy
- All judicial officers, including retired judicial officers, Clerks of the Circuit Courts, and public notaries of this state
- Quakers or "Friends," may perform marriages in the manner and form used or practiced in their societies
